The work will involve supporting critical projects at the highest level within the company, including consulting engagements, business development and marketing initiatives, technology selection and implementations, and solution development. The lawyer will also assist with (i) drafting and negotiating a wide variety of bespoke commercial contracts, including service agreements, supply agreements and licensing agreements across industry, with a particular emphasis in the technology industry, (ii) acting as an escalation point and performing quality control review of routine agreements (e.g., NDAs), handled by the company's overseas team (iii) building and updating playbooks and templates for clients as needed, and training the company's overseas team on contract positions; and (iv) acting as a liaison between the client and the company's overseas account management and production teams. The ideal candidate can work full-time, on-site in the company’s downtown New York office, but the client is also open to candidates who can work part-time on-site with the remainder remote. Lawyers must have 3+ years' experience as in-house counsel, experience being the lead lawyer negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, experience building contract templates, playbooks and training materials, a strong attention to detail, and (importantly) have experience working cross-culturally and remotely with a cross-border team.
